Postdoctoral Researcher for Relationships of Ethnic Diversity Jobs - United Academics.htm

Postdoctoral Researcher for Relationships of Ethnic Diversity (0,8 - 1,0 fte) - Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen

Faculty of Social Sciences
Maximum salary: € 4,374 gross/month
Vacancy number: 24.36.12
Closing date: 1 June 2012

 Responsibilities
As a postdoctoral researcher you will take part in the research project 'Relationships of ethnic diversity in local communities with solidarity regarding the in-group and exclusion of out-groups'. We test hypotheses on the relationships between ethnic diversity in localities with inter-ethnic contacts versus conflicts which, in turn, affect solidarity with the (majority) in-group as well as exclusion of (minority) out-groups. These hypotheses will be tested in European countries with broad ranges of local ethnic diversity, taking advantage of similar high-quality secondary data. These data will be analysed using hierarchical structural equation models providing ample analytical possibilities to specify elaborate models and simultaneously taking the structure of the data (i.e. individuals nested in localities) into account. The research project is funded by the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO) through its Conflict and Security Theme.
